My Top 10 Favorite Disney Songs

Hey everyone! Today I'd thought I do a fun yet challenging blog post on my top 10 favorite Disney songs. Now this was definitely not easy. There are so many Disney songs and not only that, but about 70% of them are fantastic! It was easy to eliminate some such as Snow White and Mary Poppins because I personally can't stand their voices or the songs. We also have live action Disney films that released new songs that are pretty damn impressive as well! There's also different versions of songs such as "A Whole New World" or "Beauty and the Beast". Now if those songs are on the list I did put some of the versions in the same number. I don't think it's fair to have the same song especially in a top 10 category. That just makes the decision that much harder. Because this was so hard I'm doing a top 10 and then 5 honorable mentions. Again, this is my favorite songs, not the best ones. I would love to know your favorites so if you'd like please leave a comment!

1. "Speechless" Princess Jasmine (Aladdin Live Action)
This is my favorite song ever! Jasmine is my favorite princess and when I heard that she would be having her own song I was very excited. Also, I was nervous because it could've been a flop. The song was very empowering and gave this princess a whole new voice. In the animated Aladdin, she's not the main character. In this live action she shared screen time with our hero. And of course she got her very own song that was very fitting for this fiercely independent princess.

2. "A Whole New World" Aladdin and Jasmine Live Action/Animated
I love both versions of this song! The animated one holds a special place in my heart. The live action did an amazing job staying true to the original. Both actors have beautiful voices and didn't take away what made this song so magical and romantic.

3. "If I Never Knew You" Pocahontas & John Smith / Jon Secada & Shanice
Both versions of this song are pretty damn good. Unfortunately, the song was cut from the film and released later as a deleted scene. Even the scene itself is romantically dark. You can feel how special the love is between Pocahontas and John Smith in this song. Their love really is beautiful and it shows not just in this song, but throughout the movie. This song is just another gorgeous way of showing it. The end credits though do have Jon and Shanice singing the song which they did a great job on as well.

4. "Evermore" Beast (Beauty and the Beast Live Action)
In the live action the Beast was given his own hauntingly romantic song. The Beast sings his heart out as Belle goes off to save her father. As he climbs the tower watching her go until he can no longer see her in the distance. He realizes that Belle has touched his life in a way no one has before. The Beast refuses to keep her locked up any longer and only hopes that she'll come back someday. Even if she doesn't break the curse it no longer matters. He truly found love and what it means.

5. "You'll Be in My Heart" Phil Collins (Tarzan)
This song plays when the film wraps up and I think it's the perfect one. Phil Collins is a great singer for starters! The song starts as a slow ballad and as it goes on it turns into a powerful one. This song gives me shivers! I love how this song talks about no matter what someone may say, the person you truly love will still be in your heart. No words or actions can stop you if you really love someone. But it's also about bringing two worlds that seem so separate, together!

6. "How Does a Moment Last Forever" Celine Dion (Beauty and the Beast Live Action)
This song plays at the end of the film which I think is very fitting! This was actually my wedding song too. The song is about no matter how much time passes by, your love will still remain. Not only that, but your love is your own story, movie, fairytale, etc. It's yours and time will not take your love away. It's a very fitting song for this beloved film.

7. "I'll Make a Man Out of You" Mulan
This song in the film along with the scene itself is so powerful! Mulan struggles to be like one of the men at the start of their training. When she's told to go away she doesn't. She proves herself and works her way up so hard that she becomes the best warrior China has ever seen! During this whole scene you want Mulan to succeed and you root for her.

8. "Colors of the Wind" Pocahontas / Vanessa Williams
This song is so deeply beautiful and the scene that goes with it equally so. Both versions of the song are done very well. Pocahontas feels connected to everything on Earth and takes us along on the journey showing us how deep it all is. She teaches us that everything on this planet has a meaning and spirit. We are all connected in some way that not everyone can see.

9. "Beauty and the Beast" Celine Dion & Peabo Bryson
In my opinion this is the best version of Beauty and the Beast. I can feel the passion when Celine and Peabo sing this song at the end of the film. It's a very romantic song explaining how Belle and the Beast started off on a rocky note, but somehow were able to develop a sweet relationship. Belle truly helped Beast change into a better man and this song is a strong representation of that.

10. "Lost in the Woods" Kristoff (Frozen 2)
I'm a sucker for this song because it sounds like an 80's love ballad and I love those kinds of songs. This was also really well done if that's what the creators were going for. We rarely get to see the men in these films sing a love ballad of their own. This song really told us just how much Kristoff loves Anna.

HONORABLE MENTIONS!

11. "You and Me (Good Company)" Oliver and Company
This song is so adorable! Most Disney songs are about romance, but this is just about Jenny and Oliver which is so sweet! It gives you all the feels.

12. "Zero to Hero" Hercules
This song always makes me wanna get up and dance! It's very upbeat, fun, and catchy. It's my favorite song from the film.

13. "All is Found" Frozen 2
The sequel had better songs in my opinion. I was going between this one and "Lost in the Woods" as the final one. This one is a sweet lullaby that Elsa and Anna's mother sung to them when they were young.

14. "Reflection" Mulan
I think we can all relate to this one on some level. Mulan longs to be who she really is instead of just what her reflection tells her. She wants to find herself.

15. "Savages" Pocahontas
This is another one that gives me the chills. The scene itself is so powerful and heart racing. I especially love all the colors and backgrounds shown, it makes it that much more intense.

From Blood and Ash by: Jennifer L. Armentrout Book Review! New favorite?

This book had me hooked from start to finish! If I didn't think I could like Armentrout's books anymore than I already do, she proved me so very wrong. In this book, Poppy is destined to be an Ascended which means she has to prove that she's worthy of the Gods. She is taught never to question her position just to fulfill it when that time arrives. Poppy had a lot of rules to follow with being the next Maiden who many people are relying on to ascend. Poppy literally can't do anything except her lessons, attend meetings, and eat. Poppy is frustrated with that life and secretly doesn't want it. But she knows she should want this life. It's her destiny. When Poppy meets Hawke she begins to question everything she thought she wanted and even starts to slowly rebel even more than she already has. With Hawke being assigned her royal guard after a heartbreaking death, it's even harder to fight what she truly knows she wants. But Poppy isn't just a Maiden awaiting the day she ascends. She's been learning to fight with Vikter (who is her other royal guard) so she can help keep out the Craven. Craven are like vampire zombies from what I gather. Whenever Poppy wants to do something she's not supposed to such as fighting, reading, etc she disguises herself with a cloak and mask. This doesn't fool Hawke and he finds Poppy intriguing. Poppy likes Hawke more than she should. Hawke let's Poppy handle herself and sees her as more than just the next Maiden. Hawke doesn't care if Poppy breaks the rules in fact, he kind of likes it. He even encourages it. Hawke sees Poppy for who she truly is and also starts to like her more than he should. He even tells her he doesn't care about the rules. Hawke believes Poppy should live a life she wants. But as her royal guard he still takes his role seriously in protecting Poppy. As Hawke and Poppy grow closer, Poppy becomes more frustrated about who she's supposed to be and what she actually wants. Poppy reminds me of princess Jasmine and Mulan wrapped all in one. Jasmine because she stays silent for awhile until another horrible death let's her unleash everything she's held in. Mulan because of course her fighting skills and disguising herself to go into battles. This book has a little bit of everything for everyone. There's action, friendships, steamy romance, sarcastic humor, etc. I read this book in two days! It's rare for me to like bigger books because sometimes they just tend to drag on and on. I didn't feel like that with this book. Poppy did have long thoughts, but they didn't bore me. In the beginning, it did drag on a bit, but it got very interesting rather quickly. I thought that Poppy was a strong character since the beginning. I didn't see someone who went from being weak to strong. I see someone who went from being strong, to even stronger. When we first meet Poppy she knows how to fight and if she's punished she deals with the punishments on her own. Even when Vikter asks her why she gets summoned (which is for the punishments) she doesn't tell the truth. Poppy is very wise, she knows nothing would be done even if she did say something. Not only that, but she picks up on some things pretty quickly. A lot of people think Poppy is this damsel maiden who can't do anything, but wait for her day to ascend. She really proves everyone wrong later in the book when her home becomes under attack. The attack and certain deaths lead the King, Queen, and Duchess to come to the decision to release Poppy to the King and Queen for protection. But the journey to the King and Queen takes a very unexpected turn. Poppy gets betrayed in a huge way that makes her question everything about her life all over. Poppy wants to believe in everything she was taught her entire life. She doesn't want to be believe everything she thought she knew was a lie. But a certain betrayal makes it harder for her to know what's true and what's a lie. I didn't think this book was hard to keep up with, I thought everything was explained quite well. Maybe not in great detail until near the end, but enough for me to understand what was going on. I do wish the Atlantians and Vampyrs were explained more towards the beginning instead of saving it for the end. But also, I know that Poppy was only told so much about them. So, I think Armentrout wanted us to find out when Poppy did purposely. Poppy thought she knew everything and the way she was taught was correct and that was that, no further questions or explanation. She was taught to just listen and follow the rules. But near the end Poppy was able to ask the one person she trusted more than anyone all the questions her heart desired. The last 100 pages or so was definitely shocking! I was not expecting all the twists and turns that took place. The other parts of the book had tiny twists here and there, but nothing compared to the final chapters where the story really starts to unfold. This book is definitely my favorite. I read this book in 2 days! I read 200 pages the first day and finished the last 400 the next day it was that great of a book! This book had everything I could ever want in a book (literally). I read a book last year where I thought it had everything I wanted in a book. But this book added an element I didn't know was missing which was Atlantians (vampires) which I love reading about! This book is New Adult Paranormal Fantasy and I love it! Armentrout took two of my favorite genres and created this magnificent beast of a book! I felt so many emotions while reading it, I feel like at times I could barely keeping up with them. I felt happy, angry, so sad I cried, etc. I don't think I ever laughed when a character died and I laughed like a maniac when a certain someone died because I hated them so fuckin' much! Armentrout did a a fantastic job of sweeping me up into this world and not letting me get out of it. Even when I wasn't reading because I had to eat or whatever else I still thought about it. Each chapter was something exciting! Even the little scenes with the meetings just held my attention when normally events like that bore someone. My grip on this book I swear grew tighter and tighter especially near the end as I read along. The book was literally in my face a few times this book was that amazing. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone! I soaked this story up like a sponge and I can not wait for book number two! Also, I included how I picture Poppy and Hawke at the bottom!

White Hot Kiss by: Jennifer L. Armentrout Book Review!

llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
I have to start off by saying that I loved this book! It seems like it just might be a love triangle, but it's so much more than that! Layla is a half Warden and half Demon. Layla sides with the Wardens and tries to help them as much as possible. The Warden's try to take down demons and other nasty creatures. They are also gargoyles. Layla was practically taught to hate the Demon side of herself. She feels like she owes the Wardens since Abbot (who is one) took her in and cared for her. Layla has a complicated relationship with Abbot's son Zayne. Zayne is her bestest friend, but she clearly likes him as more than that. But she knows she can't be with Zayne because of who she is. And there's a possibility that Zayne likes her as well. Honestly, I didn't really like Zayne until near the end of this book. He didn't act like a friend to Layla to me at times. He treated her like a child when she actually proved many times that she can take care of herself. And when she trusted Zayne with a secret he went behind Layla's back and told his father Abbot. When Layla meets the confident and intriguing Demon Roth her world is thrown through a loop of what she thought she knew. Through Roth he teaches her that not everything is so black and white in their world. Although Roth irritates Layla with his flirting he was the most helpful and loyal person to her. He could've easily betrayed Layla, he could've been selfish and taken everything for himself. Roth was literally the Prince of Darkness next in line for the crown. He risked everything to save Layla constantly and he was always there for her. He even told her the truth about her mother that everyone else kept from her. Layla and Roth made a wonderful team. Roth loves everything about Layla and is very supportive of her. He even thinks Layla's fighting skills are hot! There's nothing about her that he doesn't like while Zayne bitches about her. I'm definitely Team Roth clearly. After learning some truths about the Warden/Demon worlds through Roth, Layla isn't certain if she can trust the people who've been taking care of her. Especially, when she finds out that they knew who her parents were the whole time! This leads Layla into trusting Roth and helping him to find a certain something that a lot of the Wardens and Demons have been looking for. Some trouble brews once Abbot, Zayne, and a few of the Wardens that like Layla find out what she's been up to. But Layla remains loyal to Roth. When Abbot demands the name of Roth in order to summon him, Layla refuses. These two are fiercely loyal to each other so I hope they do end up as a couple. They kind of were, but there wasn't any labels. They are pretty perfect for each other. The end of this book was heartbreaking for a certain character. But I really don't think that they're just gone. Layla knows this too and I know she's going to figure out a way to get this person back. Also, as weird as it was I liked Layla's relationship with her friends Stacy and Sam. Layla would have to ditch them to hunt down demons. Stacy and Sam don't know about this part of Layla's life. But regardless, they barely question her and just forgive her. They could've ditched her back and unfriended Layla, but they stuck with her. And Layla even pushes Stacy on the right tracks and gives her great advice! Sam is a weird one who just states random facts everyday, but Layla and Stacy accept that part of him. I love the weird trio friendship they have. It's a nice change to see in books. Honestly, I was putting this off because I wasn't sure if I'd like it. I love Armentrout's The Problem With Forever and of course this book is very different from that. But I loved this and can't wait to continue this series. This gets 5 stars from me!

Aladdin Disney Novelization Book Review!

This book is a fantastic new way to tell the tale of Aladdin. Because this not just about Aladdin, it's also about my favorite Disney princess Jasmine! In the animated film Jasmine is not the main character, but in this story she truly shares it with Aladdin and it made my heart so happy. Jasmine and Aladdin are still the same people. Jasmine is judged for being a woman who shouldn't be Sultan because of her sex and of what happened to her mother. Aladdin is judged because he is poor and has to steal for food. He is known as a street rat to many. Aladdin and Jasmine feel trapped in different ways, but still understand each other. They are also both lonely with only an animal companion for their company for the most part. Jasmine in this story is smart and witty. She has read every book on Agrabah and other countries and studied the maps so she can one day be a great leader. But her dream is to become a Sultan without having to marry a prince. But after the death of Jasmine's mother, her father is overprotective and won't let her even go out to the market to meet the people she'll one day rule. Jasmine is frustrated because she doesn't just want to marry a prince, and if she had it her way she wouldn't marry at all. Jasmine is so much stronger in this story and has a bigger story to tell and it made me so happy. In the end something great does happen to Jasmine that made me cry tears of joy for my favorite princess. She doesn't just lay around and wait for things to happen. She works hard and tries to make them happen. Jasmine will not remain silent if she does not agree with something that is so important to her. She stands up and does something about it. She knows she would be an amazing ruler if her father gives her that chance. Onto Aladdin he really loves princess Jasmine and will do anything to be with her. He comes upon a lamp that releases the genie. Aladdin is able to wish for anything his heart desires, but he does get greedy like the genie had feared. Aladdin wants to free the genie and the genie hopes for that, but starts to believe it won't happen. Aladdin has to grow up and learn that everything that glitters is not gold. I actually like Aladdin and Jasmine more as a couple in this live action tale. Aladdin and Jasmine both lied to each other because they really wanted to be together. But they do realize that it was silly to do such a thing. They love each other and that's what matters. It doesn't matter how poor Aladdin is or how high on a pedestal Jasmine is. They want to be together and will do what it takes to keep that love alive. I love that these two don't let others push them around. They work for the things they want and push each other to be the best they can be. And together they defeat Jafar the person who has been in their way since the beginning. This book really pleased me with how they made Jasmine such a significant character to the story. She's more than just a princess waiting to find the prince that'll sweep her off her feet. She's still that girl, but more of a force to be reckoned with. Jasmine is very educated and also likes books! So she also reminds me of Belle, but Jasmine is more of a leader than Belle. This book has made me love princess Jasmine even more and I didn't think that was possible. Jasmine has turned into a strong and independent leader. I love that she's stepping up and doing everything she can to show everyone what she is capable of. She is so much more than just a princess and it really shines through in this story. She has been my favorite princess since I was little. I had always hoped that one day she would get the story that she truly deserves and she finally is! I have even more high hopes for this and can not wait to see this all play out on the big screen soon. Thank you, Disney for giving this amazing princess what she's always wanted and giving her a true voice.

FAVORITE DISNEY PRINCESSES

This was a difficult list to make recently. I finally watched Frozen 2 which made me like Anna more, but lose points with Elsa. I even rewatched some of the newer princess films like Brave and The Princess and the Frog which I've only seen once or twice. I wanted this list to be one that I'm very satisfied with. I love almost all of these princesses for different or similar reasons which makes it hard to place them. Also, some of these princesses had a chance to redeem themselves for me in their sequels. While some disappointed me. And of course there's fourteen of them that I have to place. I don't put two in the same place I just never liked doing that. So, here we go into my favorite princesses! I'll start from number 14 and work my way up into the number 1 spot!

14. Snow White ~ The only thing I think I like about Snow White is her kindness towards animals. She went into a stranger's cottage hoping she'd be welcomed after cooking and cleaning for the dwarves. Luckily, they did welcome her, but it could've gone in a different direction. And after they told her not to let strangers in, she did. She even took food from the stranger and nearly died! Not only that, but after the prince kisses her awake she goes off with him. She hasn't even spoken to the guy. She ran when he approached her which was probably smart. But she never bothered to converse with this guy. But he wakes her and she's gonna go live happily ever after with him. Oh, and she's only 14! I know back then it was a common thing, but I feel like she was too young and naïve to do something like this. They didn't even know each other's names! Don't get me started on her horrible singing voice where I can only make out some of the words.
13. Aurora ~ I know she slept through most of the movie and she had the least amount of lines out of all the princesses. But I can relate to the sleeping part. She's also kind to the woodland creatures and seems to enjoy nature. Also, with her being asleep, she honestly could not help that. Maleficent put Aurora under a spell that made her prick her finger and fall into a deep sleep. Even though Phillip did rescue Aurora from the dragon, they still barely knew each other. They relied on thinking they saw each other in one another's dreams. Aurora was frightened at first, but she warmed up to Phillip pretty quickly. And I don't think they ever found out each other's names! Yet, another couple that pretty much knew nothing about each other. When she found out she was a princess, all she could think about was Phillip. I feel like I would've thrown up, not cried about a guy I just met. But they did meet when they were young even though they don't remember that. And their families do approve of their marriage.
12. Elsa ~ She was farther up on my list, but Frozen 2 dropped her down for me. Here we go again with Elsa feeling like she's all alone. She has her sister and newfound friends who want to help her. Once again, she shuts them out and goes off alone. In doing this, she gets herself frozen leaving Anna to rescue her once again. Elsa is wise and I know she's just protecting Anna. That's a good thing of her to do when it comes to being a big sister. But I wish she would trust her sister more. Her sister more than proved how strong she was in the first film. It seemed like Elsa forgot about that and just continuously shoved her away. At the end of it all, Elsa did realize how wrong she was and made a big decision in regards to Anna and herself. But it was a very smart decision and it seems like she learned her lesson (finally). Elsa does love Anna very much and cares for her that is very clear. I love that Elsa is very independent and self-reliant, those are great qualities that she has learned over the years. But sometimes those qualities misguide her instead of help her.
11. Tiana ~ This hardworking princess never gave up in trying to achieve her dreams! Through this movie we saw how hard Tiana worked and how passionate she was about gaining her very own restaurant. There were times that people doubted her and her friends nearly distracted her from the main goal. But she did realize she was losing sight of some important things by trying so hard. Even when Tiana was at her lowest, she didn't give up like some people would. I just wish that this princess could have a better prince. I really didn't like Naveen throughout this movie and feel like there was hardly any change in him. Tiana had to give him a good kick in the ass which did make him a bit better. But I still don't think he was worthy of someone as hardworking and independent as Tiana. These two were very opposite so I know where the romance comes in. But to me they were too different. I do have to say though that Tiana was a good influence on Naveen and her best friend Charlotte.
10. Cinderella ~ In the first film, I didn't care much for this princess. The third film is what made me like her even more. The first film she was just wishing for a prince to come and rescue her. Of course, she did try by going to the ball and dancing with the prince. They danced the whole night and she didn't even bother to reveal her name to him. In the third film, she actually had to rescue the prince from her stepmother and stepsisters. Even though her stepsister Anastasia was going to steal the prince away Cinderella forgave her. In the end, Anastasia did the right thing and Cinderella decided not to punish her. I think it takes a lot to make that kind of decision. I can't say I would've been as kind. Cinderella reeks of kindness which I don't care for, but it does really define her character. It also shows why Charming chose her and why the mice love her so much. The third film gave her a chance to be more than the girl who fit the slipper. And it really did!
9. Merida ~ This princess is not your typical princess. She's so much more and doesn't let anyone stop her from doing what she wants. When it came to someone shooting for Merida's hand, she shot for own and won! Merida is fiercely independent and loves feeling free. Even though her little brother's annoy her, it doesn't stop her from being kind to them. Merida and her mother don't have a great relationship during the film. Neither one of them listen to each other until it really matters. I love Merida and all of her qualities. The only thing I can say is that I wish she and her mother would've had better communication. If they did, they wouldn't have gotten into such a predicament. I would rank this princess higher, but I don't see any special qualities about her that could make me put her into a better position. She caused some of the problems that happened and she did resolve them. But she also did kind of act like a spoiled brat at times and so did her mother. I loved the relationship she had with her father and brothers. Also, she was just simply herself and that is enough.
8. Moana ~ Moana is another princess who doesn't need a prince. What's also awesome is that her family never even brings that subject up. They believe Moana is strong enough to rule on her own terms. I think that made it easier for Moana to accept her role as a future leader. But she doesn't want to just lead her people, she wants to give them a better life! Even though her family fears change, that doesn't stop her from seeking out a better future for her people. Through her grandmother's influence and her own independence, Moana goes on an adventure to achieve the dream. I love that even though Moana is scared, she pushes herself forward. She relies on her relationship with the ocean and the spirit of her grandmother to help guide her when she needs it. And she doesn't let some demigod stand in her way either. Through the challenges she faces, she learns to be brave and to not fear the new. Moana is a combination of Pocahontas and Rapunzel to me. That's probably the only reason she isn't ranked higher. There's nothing I dislike about Moana really, but I don't find much that sets her apart from other princesses.
7. Ariel ~ This unique mermaid princess dreams of becoming a human. A lot of people think it's just because of Eric which is not true. Before Eric came along Ariel was collecting objects from the human world. She even sings a song about living on land before seeing Eric. Eric just gave her that extra push she needed to make it come true. And it wasn't just him, but her father also drove her to it. Ariel made a big sacrifice by leaving behind her world to be a human and hopefully marry Eric. This was both brave and stupid. Ariel only studied Eric from afar, but she did save his life which put the relationship in motion. They did get to know each other better over the course of three days, which was difficult since Ariel couldn't speak. Ariel even saves Eric again when he tries to rescue her. But she also fell in love with someone who risked their life to save their dog so bonus points there! Plus, she is the only princess in the Disney line up that's a mermaid.

6. Anna ~ Anna used to be near the bottom, but Frozen 2 made her rise up for me in the rankings. Anna saved Elsa twice! Not only that, but it was at the times when she was at her lowest points. First time, she was freezing to death and risked her life to save Elsa instead of going for true love's kiss. Second time, she lost Olaf and was all alone. She felt like giving up, but she didn't. She cried for a little, but then she wiped away those tears and finished her missions. Anna acted more like a big sister than Elsa did in the second film. She constantly kept trying to protect Elsa and proved how reliable she was. Instead of crying about Hans not loving her, she punched that boy right in the face! Also, I love that she doesn't let ANYONE push her around or make her feel less than what she's worth. Anna believes in herself and the ones that she loves. She doesn't give up on herself or them. When it comes down to it, Anna is really a force to be reckoned with. She's also completely and unapologetically herself which I love! And I think we can all forgive the Hans thing, we were all a teenager in love once upon a time with a stupid guy we thought we would marry. Anna overcame everything thrown her way and proved that she could be a Queen without even trying to accomplish that!
5. Rapunzel ~ Who doesn't love this lively princess? Rapunzel lives locked in a tower, but she learns throughout her life to make the most of it. She doesn't just sit around, she cooks, bakes, reads, you name it! But this doesn't stop her from having dreams of seeing the floating lanterns. She's also that rebellious teenager in us that disobeys our parents. Even though Rapunzel is scared and dealing with a lot of emotions about venturing out into the world, she faces it all head on. She unexpectedly finds love along the way! Through her Flynn learns to be a better person and learns what it really means to have a dream. Rapunzel is also great with animals and people. Everyone who meets her loves her and her positive attitude rubs off on them. She even discovers on her own that Mother Gothel lied to her. After being pushed around for years Rapunzel stands up to her. She and Flynn even save each other a few times and discover that their new dream is each other. Their love is so beautiful because they brought out the best in each other through that love. The relationship started off rocky, but really blossomed throughout the movie. Rapunzel learned to be brave and to chase her dreams. Rapunzel is truly beautiful inside and out.
 4. Belle ~ The bookworm of all the Disney princesses! Belle doesn't want the typical life all of the villagers live in. She wants more, like the lives she reads about in books. If you think about it, she really does get it. Her relationship with her prince is probably the best developed relationship as far as Disney couples go. They actually take time to learn about each other. And in the live action they bond over their love of books! Before Belle came along, the Beast was cruel and spoiled. Belle doesn't let him push her over like others might. She stands up to the Beast and makes him a better person for it. She even sacrificed herself so that the person she loves the most (her father) could live. Despite everything, Belle is the one person who never gave up on the Beast and found the good in him. People make the mistake of thinking Belle fell in love with a kidnapper. Not really. Belle was willing to give herself up, she offered to be the prisoner. The Beast didn't force her to do anything. Belle is smart, fearless, and strong. And she didn't settle for someone like Gaston who she had absolutely no interest in. In fact, she didn't care about marrying and having children. She cared about living her life the way she wanted. So, she also had dignity and independence!
3. Mulan ~ The famous heroine of China! Mulan has so many great qualities that a lot of people didn't bother to see. Mulan started off as this awkward clumsy girl that was told she would not bring honor to her family. But she blossoms into the strongest warrior China has ever seen! She proves to everyone that even though she's a woman, she can battle the best of all the men. Even when she's told to go home twice, she doesn't. She stands her ground to prove herself and save her country. Her main goal was to take her father's place in the army. She knew that he would surely die if he went back as ordered. She reinvented herself so that he could live, even if it meant that she might die. She gets knocked down by the other men a few times, but she carries on. She proves to herself, family, and all of China that she can be a warrior. It doesn't matter what sex you are. And through doing this, Mulan brings honor to her family. It would've been easier if Mulan just gave up and went home. But she took the more challenging path and proved that she's a true warrior. In the sequel she's even trusted to be in charge of the Emperor's daughters. She never strays from who she truly is either. She makes a better man of Shang in the sequel by teaching him that it's ok to follow your heart sometimes. For all of this, Mulan came out of it stronger. So, Mulan basically proved everyone wrong and became an ass kicking heroine out of it.
2. Pocahontas ~ She is the daughter of the Indian Chief who already has a path chosen for her. But instead of following that path, Pocahontas learns to listen to her heart and choose her own path. Instead of judging the new people that come to her land, she takes the time to learn about one of them. Through John Smith she learns what the new people are really like. In return, she teaches John not to be so judgmental and greedy. She even saves him when her father orders him to be executed. In doing this, she also stops a war between her people and John Smith's. Through their love they were able to bring peace between their people and show that they can learn from each other. She even made the difficult decision to stay with her people and lead them. She could've went with John Smith back to his world. But she knew the right path was for her to stay and him to go so he could get better. Even though I don't like the second movie, I have to say her character grew even more when she ventured into England. In the sequel she showed true leadership skills by not backing down from Radcliffe and the king. I did not agree with her being with John Rolfe because it made it seem like her relationship with Smith meant nothing. It felt like they learned nothing from each other and that was disappointing. But regardless, Pocahontas had great character development and chose her own path.
1. Jasmine ~ This princess has been my favorite ever since I was a toddler. (My sister can vouch for me). This princess doesn't let anyone boss her around. She's sassy, fierce, and adventurous. Jasmine wants more than just to live happily ever after with a prince. If she marries she wants it to be for love and she also wants to be the Sultan. Time and time again she is told she can not be Sultan. But through her bravery and knowledge, she shows that she rule the kingdom. People mistake this princess of being a spoiled brat. Jasmine is actually a pretty selfless princess. She doesn't hesitate to help those in need and wants to give her people a better life. In the third film King Of Thieves, she even postpones her own wedding. She does this so Aladdin can go and find his father, she promises to be waiting for Aladdin when he returns. She also fell in love with Aladdin for who he was, not because he had gems or jewels. She still loved him even when she found out the truth of who he really was. Jasmine doesn't settle for less than what she deserves and I think that's something we all should learn. Jasmine doesn't just want any prince and truly believes in herself to be the Sultan. She also doesn't just stand off to the side and wait to be rescued. She tries to join the fights and help as much as she is able to. Of course bonus points for her having a protective tiger, Rajah. In the live action she even gets her own song which is a very powerful anthem. She refuses to go out quietly even though Jafar has great power that he could potentially kill her with. Jasmine proves that she's a fearless leader and she not only proves that she can be Sultan, but she earns that position! Jasmine stuck to what she wanted no matter how hard the challenges were. She faced them head on!

There you have it! This is the order of my favorite princesses and why. Tell me, who are your favorite princesses? Do you have a list like I do? I would love to hear it if you do! Leave me your comments! Even if you disagree I wanna hear your thoughts.

A Monster Calls Book Review!!!

I've wanted to read this book for some time and I finally got the chance to! This story is about Conor and how he deals with his mother's cancer. His mother keeps telling him that everything will be ok and that she will get better just like the last few times with the treatments. But deep down Conor knows that's not true. He really wants to believe the words his mother says, but the way she acts and looks tells a different story. One night, a monster visits Conor and whenever the monster does it's at 12:07 a.m. The monster has come to tell Conor of three different tales, all with a similar message. By the time the monster finishes his third tale, Conor will have to tell the fourth. And it's not a tale he wants to speak of. This book was a really good read and showed us an insight to how Conor dealt with his mother's cancer. More than anything, Conor was really angry and just trying to hold back the sadness he felt. He took his anger out on other people and objects. He searched for a way to be treated like a normal person, but time and time again no one would treat him like one. Everyone either ignored or pitied Conor. It got to the point where he had beaten a classmate pretty badly. Conor had a friend (Lily) until he found out that she told everyone that his mother had cancer. He's angry at Lily for that, angry at his father for having another family in America, and angry that he'll have to live with his grandmother if his mother passes away. He feels so much anger that it's practically blocking out the sadness he feels. The monster though is determined to make Conor face the truth of what's going to happen. No matter how much it scares him, no matter how much he doesn't want it to be true, he will help Conor to the reveal the truth. This book was a quick read and I highly recommend it! Especially, if you wanna cry.

Full Moon Kisses Book Review!

This book is the conclusion to the trilogy Full Moon. In this installment Brandon is preparing himself to take the cure and be fully human again. But plans change with Celeste's ex Nash also becoming a werewolf. Brandon offers to give Nash the cure first because he sees how upsetting being a werewolf is for Nash. Celeste is there for her boyfriend Brandon and her ex Nash during this time. Brandon and Nash even form a bit of a friendship through all of this. Because of this, Brandon is welcomed into Celeste's group of friends. When it seems like everything is going to be ok Celeste discovers three new werewolves. And one of them wants her. Not only that, but the other two take an interest in her two best friends Ivy and Abby. They plan to take the girls during the famous wolf festival that happens every ten years. Celeste is determined to cure all the werewolves, but she has to convince her boyfriend Brandon to go through with it as well. The only problem is, all three of them may not want the cure. I thought this book was alright. I think the added element of three new werewolves wasn't all that great. It did work in building Celeste's character even more. It showed us even more why everyone really likes her. But another guy, Ryder who doesn't even know Celeste wants her to be his mate. He claims to know how good of a person she is. This guy has had like two conversations with her so it's weird. I didn't care for these new werewolves until near the end when we discover that Ryder has been treating Leopold and Hunter like crap. The friendship between Celeste and Ivy was a lot better in this book. When Celeste was in trouble Ivy came to her rescue twice and fiercely defended her. I didn't like Ivy in the second book because she acted like a spoiled brat. I know she is, but she had great character development in this book and is one of my favorite characters now. The ending was very satisfying. I'm happy with the choices Brandon made and how supportive Celeste has been through his journey as a werewolf. Even though there were plenty of times where Celeste could've walked away or gotten back with Nash, she stayed by Brandon's side. I give this book 4/5. I did read it in a day and I was very happy with the results. But I do feel like the other werewolves weren't all that important. It was just another love interest for Celeste for the most part.

My New Appreciation For Thumbelina

Hello everyone! So, let's cut to the chase, Thumbelina is not Disney, I'm very aware of that. You don't have to get on here and tell me that. Regardless, I wanted to talk about it because I actually watched it on DisneyPlus! Wanna know why? Well, it was distributed by Warner Bros. but now 20th Century Fox owns it. And of course Disney bought Fox so now they own Thumbelina, so there you have it! But I don't think Anastasia is on DisneyPlus yet, at least not that I have seen. Anyway, I recently watched this film again since it's been awhile. At first I thought of how cute and yet pretty silly it was. Thumbelina's mother wanted a child, but was given a tiny young woman. Regardless, she was satisfied and immediately bonded with Thumbelina. One night the fairy prince Cornelius hears Thumbelina singing and sneaks into her house because her voice is so beautiful. Thumbelina has the right reaction and runs, but Cornelius convinces her that he's harmless. After a little conversation they ride with Cornelius' pet bee out into the night. They sing "Let Me Be Your Wings" which is a beautiful love song in my opinion. And it makes sense since Cornelius literally takes Thumbelina under his wings and flies with her through the night singing and dancing. Upon returning her home, Thumbelina gives him a necklace of flowers and this dude gives her a ring. Where does he put it? On her ring finger. That's moving quite fast and of course I'm like, you've only had a night together. But of course these two feel a very strong connection from that night and know that they want to be together.
The prince promises to come back in the morning so they can meet each other's parents and move everything along to get married asap. But during the night Thumbelina is kidnapped by a group of toads that heard her beautiful voice during the night. Anyone who falls for Thumbelina, it's mainly for her voice. Of course she's beautiful, but her voice is what captivates all of admirers at first. After being kidnapped, she's upset because she just wants to go home or be with her prince. A group of bugs and a swallow offer to help her despite the fact that the winter frost is coming. Along the way a beetle also kidnaps her due to her beautiful voice. He let's her go though because beetles think humans are ugly. So luckily, that experience is short lived. Thumbelina nearly freezes to death before Mrs. Fieldmouse finds her and takes her in. In exchange for saving Thumbelina, Mrs. Fieldmouse wants her to marry Mr. Mole who is very rich and old. Thumbelina explains she promised herself to Cornelius, but Mrs. Fieldmouse explains that the prince froze in a lake (which is true). So, everyone thinks the fairy prince is dead. Thumbelina agrees to marry Mr. Mole in her state of despair. At this point Thumbelina is at her lowest. This poor girl was kidnapped twice, misses her mother, found out her true love is dead, and is now practically forced into marrying an old ass mole. Oh, and the toad who wants to marry her is still after her too! Is this even legal?
She's put into this disgusting outfit for the wedding. But during her whole walk down the aisle she can not stop thinking of Cornelius. She's even still wearing the ring he gave her (she's staring at it in the picture). When it finally comes to the "I do's" she says "Never!". She tells everyone she can't do this because she does not love Mr. Mole. Thumbelina is still loyal to Cornelius even though she thinks he's dead! That's wifey right there! No, really. She's treating their relationship like they're already married. She refuses to marry Mr. Mole because she truly loves Cornelius. She then tells everyone that she is not theirs and she is leaving. This girl went from being at her lowest to finally standing up for herself and doing what she wants. With the fairy prince's help she escapes from Mr. Mole, the beetle, and toad. She still doesn't know Cornelius is actually alive (her friends unfroze him) and that he took down the toad. The swallow Jacquimo flies her away from all the chaos and encourages her to sing. Despite being tired and over everything she sings which leads the fairy prince to find her. Cornelius asks Thumbelina to marry him and of course she says she will. They finally kiss which gives Thumbelina her very own wings and they wed. I'm actually impressed with Thumbelina's character development. She went from relying on others to help her and wallowing in self pity to finally taking a stand for herself. Even though she thought Cornelius was dead she sucked it up and fought for her freedom. And she stayed true to her feelings for him. Yes, the romance happened fast, but it ended up being pretty beautiful. It also set up Thumbelina's character development quite nicely. Also, my rating for the film would be a 8/10. It's cheesy, but despite that I did enjoy the story progression and I love the music!
